MILITARISATION IN MAHARASHTRA
An excellent avenue exists for Maharashtrian youths to join the armed forces. Annually the recruitment quota for the Maharashtra in Armed forces (Army) is generally completed. Zonal Recruiting Office is located in Pune under which Branch Recruiting Offices (BRO’s) are located at Kolhapur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Aurangabad & Pune. The enrolment for Army is for posts of Matric Entry rate (MER) categories, Clerks SKT, Nursing Asst. and for Navy Direct Entry Sailors (DES) & Artificer Apprentice. To help our Maharashtrian youth for passing these examinations the Department of Sainik Welfare runs pre-recruitment training centers at various major districts. However, this course is run only for 15 days. This is too inadequate. The duration of the course is required to be increased to one month to achieve fruitful results.
